“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God!” Phil 1:3 NLT

This month, we want to encourage you to “give thanks with a grateful heart”! (Yes, take a moment to click that link and sing along! As you listen…and sing, make notes about what comes to mind, for which you are especially grateful.) Our hearts are full of gratitude! Maybe it’s the pumpkin on our front porch. Maybe it’s because it’s the month of “Thanksgiving”. Maybe it’s the fact that we just returned from a wonderful weekend trip to Oklahoma Christian for Homecoming celebrating our 50th class reunion, so many conversations and reconnections. On that same trip we were able to be at The Hills church for Harvest Weekend and see many sweet friends and be encouraged by incredible worship. Maybe it’s because we were able to fly RDU to DFW this past weekend with virtually no travel delays in spite of what’s happening in our country. As we arrived home this past Sunday evening, we looked at each other and agreed: we have so much for which to be thankful. This month, before we share some excellent “gratitude worksheets” from Spiritual First Aid, we want you to consider just how blessed you are. We will start by sharing from our gratitude journal.

We are thankful for:
- Sunny crisp Fall days.
- Glorious photos of the Northern Lights from all over the country shared from last night’s display. We are in awe of creation!
- Relationships—friendships that span a lifetime and feed our souls, encourage at every turn and grow with every encounter. We celebrate our relationship with our children and grandchildren, family, friends both here in our neighborhood and far away.
- Provisions—food on our table, gas in our tank, and a cozy home.
- Health—yes, life is fragile. We give thanks for every day, every breath.

Of course, the list could go on but you get the idea. We want to challenge you to prepare for your Thanksgiving Day time around the table by working through some gratitude worksheets. Simply follow the link, fill in your name and email address and pick out what encourages you. Choose from 18 gratitude prompts, a Grateful Heart Quiz or start your own Gratitude Journal. May the Father bless you on the road ahead as you give thanks.
“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1Thess 5:18 NLT
